Happy Valentine's Birthday

It's February 14th - 40 years ago today I became my parent's Valentines gift. They have been 40 marvelous years of life. I think it was more difficult for me turning 30 than it is turning 40. All of the questions we had in our 20's and 30's about what we were going to do with our life becomes much clearer at 40 as we grow to understand ourselves a little better.

For some, you have played a major role in my growth and formation and other's less so, but still no less important. I want to thank you for all of your prayers and support; your encouragement and inspiration.

I arrived in Chicago on Tuesday afternoon to help Cindie get her house packed up and all of her stuff moved out so she can rent it. Cindie is my colleague raising support to spend the better half of this year overseas in Africa and Southeast Asia doing partnership support and development.

We hope to get out and do as much sharing about the plight of many of our partners as we can. We'll be in the Chicagoland area for a couple weeks (from February 14th - March 3rd). If you know anyone interested in having us show our pictures and share please call us at either 727-543-0196 or 630-272-5487.

I'll keep you posted on how things develop and please keep us in your prayers. These are exciting but also very tenuous times. Blessings,
Tim

Colombia Video

Online Videos by Veoh.com

Home from Colombia

It’s almost 6:00 a.m. and I’m packed and ready to head to airport but I’m lamenting the fact that I don’t feel like I’ve accomplished all that we set out to do.

Jen is going to stay another 12 days to continue to help the Phillips family with all that needs to get done. Colombia is a beautiful place and much more advanced than so many of the countries that I’ve been in but when it comes to getting things done quickly, it’s very difficult. The saying, “It’s not what you know but who you know.” is so much more relevant here. From purchasing an ink cartridge to finding a place to rent, it’s a challenge and very frustrating for those of us who live a privileged life of online shopping and real estate brokers.

Nancy (Mrs. Phillips) will be taking a bus (9 hrs.) to Bucaramanga, her home town and Jen will stay here with the kids. She will be closer to her family and will have a stronger support system. Please continue to pray for the Phillips family. It has been such a joy getting to know them and a privilege to be a part of their lives.

Everyone has a story - I have to ask, how will mine read as I live out my life.
